Jackrabbits (a type of hare)  are associated with goddesses, witches, messengers, fertility symbols, tricksters and shapeshifting.  They are tied to madness in March, which originates from the European hares frantic behavior during breeding season.  They have inspired humans for a very long time, there are so many stories from all over the world about both hares and rabbits.

Hares aren’t rabbits, in case you didn’t already know that.  The differences are pretty obvious.  For one, rabbits have been able to be domesticated, while hares have a wild nature that cannot be tamed.  Rabbits birth helpless babies, with undeveloped eyes, ears and no fur, and must remain in the nest to mature.  Hares are born hitting the ground, like mini adults.  Rabbits are social, and hares are mostly loners.

This one sits in the midst of climatic chaos, a world in flux and change.  This is not the madness of hares, but of homo sapiens.
